In 1907, French chemist Eugène Schuler founded L’Oréal, starting with a small laboratory in Paris. Initially, the company specialized in the creation of synthetic hair dyes, among which the product called “Oreal” stood out – in French, this word means “gold”. Already in 1909, Schuler officially registered the L’Oréal trademark.

In the 1980s, the company actively expanded its product range and sales geography, and also became one of the pioneers in the use of computer technology for the development of cosmetics.

In the 1990s, this trend continued: L’Oréal continued to expand its product line and develop new markets, and was one of the first to use the Internet to advertise and promote its products.

L’Oréal collaborated with famous jewelry masters, including Arthur Bertrand. Interestingly, the company had its own jewelry brands that served as an effective tool for promoting the main brand, and they were only part of more than two thousand registered trademarks of L’Oréal. Among them, it is worth noting the jewelry line “Color of Hope” (existed from 2005 to 2012) and “Azzaro” (from 2014 to the present).
