The famous American jewelry brand was founded by a talented jeweler-designer Edward Svoboda. Having received a good education, he was well versed in jewelry raw materials. Nancy Reagan, wife of Ronald Reagan, then governor of California, chose Swoboda as the supplier of gifts for the 1966 Governors’ Conference.

The first products of the Swoboda company were not marked, just a label was hung on each decoration. Later, in 1963, when the company entered the world market, the Swo or Swoboda markings appeared on the products.

The brand was very popular in Hollywood. All vintage jewelry of the company is collectible, very rare and expensive. In 1976, Edward Svoboda left the company. It was led by Nat Waksman, the company’s former lead designer. In 1985 the company ceased to exist. Nat Waksman started his own business and produces jewelry under the brand name N.W. Jewerly. At the same time, he began to re-release some of the Swoboda jewelry in very limited editions. Swoboda jewelry, produced in strict accordance with the design of old samples and according to the old technologies, is in demand and successful.
