Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel are a Danish couple known for their furniture and jewelry design.
The Ditzels began their careers creating practical and comfortable furniture. However, Nanna began designing jewelry so that she could work from home while raising her children. In 1950, her jewelry collection was recognized by the Jewellers’ Association.

Since 1954, Nanna Ditzel began a long and fruitful collaboration with the jewelry brand Georg Jensen. She created many rings, bracelets, necklaces and brooches for them that have become classics of the brand.

In 1956, the Ditzels jointly received the Lunning Prize for their jewelry design.
After the death of Jorgen Ditzel (1961), Nanna continued to work with Georg Jensen, becoming an integral part of the design team. She mainly worked on products from hollow materials, but sometimes created jewelry.

In the early 1970s, Nanna moved to England with her second husband, Kurt Heyde. They founded Nanna Ditzel Productions Ltd. After Heyde’s death in 1986, Nanna returned to Denmark where she continued to work. She died in 2005.

The markings for the jewellery designed by the Ditzels are NJ (for Nanna and Jørgen) or ND (for Nanna).
