History of foundation
The company was founded in 1884 as Siegle & Bennett in Pforzheim, Germany. It was created by Ernst Murrle (Germany) and J. B. Bennett (London).
In 1891, the company was renamed Murrle Bennett & Co.

The company operated until 1916, when Murrle was deported to Germany during World War I. After that, the company was named White, Redgrove & Whyte.
