Michael Michaud says that he became interested in the world of flowers and plants as a child: his parents were enthusiastic gardeners
and did their best to instill in their son a love of nature. The American still recalls with a smile how he spent all his free time on the street, among pear trees and greenhouses: impression”.

When it was time to choose a profession, sensitive to everything beautiful, Michael without hesitation went to study as a designer at the Rochester Institute of Technology, then began working with New York jewelry brands, and in the early 90s decided to create “botanical” jewelry under his own name: brooches cornflowers, earrings in the form of berries, pendants with poppies – such jewelry remains his hallmark to this day.
Moreover, for all these years the designer has never repeated himself: he approaches each of his collections in a new way and, most importantly, does not lose his childishly touching admiration for nature. What is worth at least the fact that when creating jewelry, Michaud uses the “original source”, that is, the plants themselves, as models! “Even the most plausible template will never match the natural beauty that is inherent in nature,” explains Michael.

The designer’s non-standard ideas were appreciated not only by ordinary clients, but also by exhibition curators at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Palace of Versailles. Michaud himself, however, insists that his products should not be taken as museum pieces: “My” lyrical heroine “is a modern woman who can easily wear my jewelry with an evening dress and ordinary jeans.”
Asked what we can expect from Michael Michaud in the future, the designer smiles wistfully and talks about his new weeping willow line: “These pieces are definitely going to be my absolute favourites.
