The launch of the Bojar brand began in 1914: Leo Bojar, a native of Lithuania, moved to New York with his wife and son William, having arrived from Warsaw (Poland). Within the walls of the American metropolis, he became friends with Benjamin Novgrad, a representative of the trading world. Their meeting became the starting point for the creation of a joint jewelry enterprise in Providence.
On September 19, 1919, the first collection of gold rings, focused on wholesale sales, was born. However, a few years later, by 1925, the paths of the founders diverged: Novgrad teamed up with Charles Rothman in a new partnership. Leo Bojar continued his business under the sign of the Bojar Manufacturing Company.
