In 1946, the first stone was laid in the history of the Estée Lauder brand, when its founders, Estée and Joseph Lauder, decided to start producing cosmetics in the heart of New York. The company’s initial range included only four innovative products: skin cleansing oil, moisturizing lotion, concentrated universal cream and a special cream in unique packaging.

In 1948, the first Estée Lauder store opened in the Saks Fifth Avenue department store. Over the next fifteen years, they expanded the range and continued to sell their products in the United States.
In 1960, the company opened its representative office in London, and the following year – in Hong Kong.
