Deanna Hamro is an American jewelry designer who began her career in the mid-1980s. Before that, she worked as a model for over a decade.
Hamro’s first jewelry pieces were made of papier-mâché and Austrian crystals and sold at Neiman Marcus for between $60 and $200. Later pieces featured colored glass stones set on textured gold-plated metal.

In the early 1990s, Hamro’s jewelry appeared in magazines such as New York Magazine and Spin.
In the late 1990s, the designer became a consultant, working on fashion jewelry development for other people and companies. She then founded D.H. Atelier, where she created custom, limited-edition jewelry and couture pieces made with Swarovski stones.

In 2007, Hamro became the designer and owner of a new business, Deanna Hamro Jewels, which produced both fine and fashion jewelry.
Since 2013, the business has focused exclusively on fine jewelry created by artisans in the Los Angeles area. Hamro specialized in unique pieces made from semi-precious stones set in gold.

In 2016, the designer passed away, leaving behind a legacy of creativity in jewelry design.
