In 1937, Katz became chief designer and production manager, in 1948, vice president, and in 1960, executive vice president. He was responsible for reviewing designs from young artists and deciding which ones to accept for production.
One of Katz’s most famous designs is the Coro Duette. These are double-needle clips that can be combined to form a single brooch. The jewelry was most often made of sterling silver and coated with enamel.
In the 1950s, Katz led the development of Coro’s new “Vendome” line, which was sold in the most exclusive department stores.
